Professional Experience

Merv started his professional coaching practice in 1996. From the executive boardroom or large group audience coaching to the one-on-one sessions, Merv is equally comfortable and adaptable to the many diverse environments, individuals and industries he has supported throughout North America and Europe. To his credit are approximately 20,000 hours of coaching in a broad cross-section of industry, including large retailers, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, information technology, banking, hospitals, telecommunications, manufacturing, space agencies, governments, and non-profit organizations. From the CEO/CFOs, Presidents/Vice Presidents and hosts of senior management, to senior professionals, sales and marketing, and ‘day one’ new hires - Merv attributes his successes in coaching to having an innate ability to look beyond the presenting barrier and drive for the potential inside each individual or organization he is coaching.


Merv is lead designer and developer of Corporate CoachU’s The Coaching Clinic®: coaching skills for leaders and managers; Coachworks International’s Legacy Leadership Institute®: optimizing executive potential; and CoachU’s The Core Essentials Program®: a training program for professional coaches. He has facilitated hundreds of leadership development experiences using the Thomas International DISC® to foster board or team alignment, as well as develop significant improvements in business clarity and organizational accountability.


Professional Development

Merv received his coaching training from Coach University and is a certified member of the International Coach Federation as a Master Certified Coach (MCC).  Merv is qualified on a number of assessment tools, such as Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®), Thomas International DISC®, Hogan Assessments, True Colors®, Personal Coaching Style Indicator®, and the Legacy Leadership Competency Inventory®.  He is also a certified practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. He is currently studying approaches used in Energy Psychology that are based on the elimination of the negative effects of daily stress and past memories...frequently the root cause of the most stubborn barriers witnessed in coaching.


Merging the techniques found in Energy Psychology with the disciplines found in coaching, the possibilities for personal transformation are endless.
