Dr. Laura Belsten is a Master Certified Coach (MCC) and a senior executive coach in LCPI, a people-focused company offering coaching services, leadership development and course design across North America and Europe.  She coaches executives and senior management clients through the changes needed to successfully respond to today’s turbulent times.  Laura also specializes in leadership and management skills, organizational and interpersonal communication and emotional intelligence.  Using the most current coaching methodologies, Laura has partnered with hundreds of individuals to assist them with leading organizations and teams, managing organizational and career transitions, leadership and managerial effectiveness and organizational culture change.  Laura’s professional services include individual executive coaching, team coaching, group coaching, facilitation, a wide array of assessment instruments, and workshops on topics such as advanced coaching skills for leaders and managers, negotiation, mediation, conflict resolution, visionary leadership, powerful influencing skills, teamwork and collaboration, building and sustaining trust, stress management, resilience and emotional intelligence. 

Professional Experience

Laura has developed a well-rounded portfolio of people leadership skills, project management abilities, P&L accountabilities, extensive facilitation and curriculum design through her 25-year career.  Laura has served as a City Manager, internal management consultant and advisor to the Governor of the State of Colorado, executive director of a masters-degree program at the University of Denver, and on the faculty of the University of Denver for the past 18 years, teaching graduate courses in leadership and communication.  She has been an executive coach for the past 12 years. 

Her clients include executives, leaders and managers in Fortune 500 companies including Hewlett Packard, Compaq, T-Mobile, Verizon, Symantec, Qwest Communications, Xcel Energy, HealthONE, Accenture, MWH Global, Turner Construction Company, UBS, Catholic Health Initiatives, various hospitals and health care facilities, and numerous federal, state and local governmental agencies. 

Professional Development

Laura received her PhD from the University of Denver (1996) in leadership and organizational communication.  She received her coaching training from Coach University and Corporate Coach University, as well as the Coaches Training Institute.  She has earned the designation of Master Certified Coach (MCC) from the International Coach Federation, the highest level of certification in the industry.  She is past president of the Denver Coach Federation, the Denver chapter of the ICF.  She has done post-graduate work with some of the true masters and leading thinkers and practitioners in the areas of leadership, emotional intelligence, organizational effectiveness, team effectiveness, negotiation, powerful influence and strategic communications.  Laura is qualified and/or certified in the use of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), DISC, FIRO-B, Hogan Personality suite of assessments, the Team Diagnostic from Team Coaching International, the Emotional Intelligence Profile, the EQ-I, the EQ Map and the ECI, as well as numerous 360 instruments.
